Most of us heavily rely on open source projects in our day-to-day job. Some of us interact interact with open source projects by also reaching out to report bugs and suggest features. A few of us then start contributing code. But how does it work when you are on the other side, maintaining a project that so many people rely on? In this talk I will share my journey maintaining one of the most widely used JavaScript tools, and what I learned over the years. We will lean about how *you* can start contributing to your favorite open source projects and become part of their communities, as well as what you can do within your company to make sure that you can rely on the open source dependencies you have.
